Windows 11: The wait of users for Windows 11 is about to end now. Microsoft has announced that the Windows 11 update will start rolling out from October 5. If you want to download Windows 11, they also know whether your PC-Laptop is ready to download and install the new operating system (OS). Windows 11 to be released on October 5

Users were waiting for a long time for Windows 11; now, this wait is about to end. Microsoft is fully ready to release this operating system (Windows 11 Release Date). Windows 11 will be released in a phased manner from the coming October 5. Windows 10 users will be able to update it for free. Apart from this, Windows 7 and Windows 8.1 users will also be able to upgrade. 

For this, Lenovo has released the FAQ page. Windows 7 and Windows 8.1 users will need to perform a clean install, which will require complete formatting of the system drive if they meet the hardware requirements. Windows Marketing General Manager Aaron Woodman has told in a blog post that this update will start from October and run till the middle of 2022 next year.

These new features will be available in Windows 11

Microsoft Windows 11 will appear to have changed a lot. You will also see changes in settings etc., along with the new desktop feature (Windows 11 new features).

New Desktop User Interface: The user interface will change a lot in this. Usually, in earlier operating systems, the taskbar is located on the bottom left. Now the taskbar icon center will appear. Changes will also be seen in the design of the apps. The most significant change was seen in the start menu. This menu has been redesigned. Now it is not connected to the taskbar.

New Settings UI: The features of the users have been taken care of in the new operating system. The Action Center has been revamped to make it easier for users to access the settings. There are toggles for Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, Battery Saver, Focus Assist, and other vital settings. Microsoft has also added a new Snap Layout feature.

Widget: The use of widgets has started increasing a lot. You might remember the Desktop Widget on Windows Vista. Widgets can be accessed directly from the taskbar in Windows 11. Also, you will be able to personalize it according to your own.

Microsoft Store: Android apps for Windows 11 can be installed via the Amazon Appstore from within the new Microsoft Store. However, Android app support will not be part of the first release of Windows 11 in October.

Microsoft Teams Integration: Teams is getting a facelift in the new operating system and is integrated directly into the Windows 11 taskbar, making it easier to access.

Virtual Desktop Support: Like macOS, Windows 11 will allow you to set up a virtual desktop. This will make it easier to toggle multiple desktops like personal, work, after school, gaming, etc.

How to Download and Install Windows

.If your PC laptop meets the hardware requirements for Windows 11, then you can update it. It is easy to update it (Windows 11 Update). All you have to do is go to Settings > Windows Update. Now here, you click on the ‘Check For Updates button. 

If the update has been released for your PC-Laptop, the ‘Update Available’ option will appear. Connect the PC laptop to Wi-Fi to download the update. After the download (Windows 11 Download) is done, Microsoft will ask to install and reboot the new operating system.

 Please note that the installation may take some time. Therefore, do this work at a time when you do not need a PC. You will not be able to use the PC during the installation. Then after the system restart, you will be able to use Windows 11.

Even though you’re waiting for the new Windows operating update, Windows 11 won’t come to your computer if it doesn’t meet the hardware requirements (Windows 11 Requirements). You can also check whether the system is eligible for an update or not through Microsoft’s PC Health Check app or the WhyNotWin11 app.

Others: Internet connectivity, Microsoft account for setup, etc.

Note that the compatible 64-bit processor Microsoft requires includes select devices with Intel Core X-series, Xeon W series, and Intel Core 7820HQ processors.

If you can’t update to Windows 11 on your old PC or laptop, there are still several other options available to you:

Linux Mint: As an alternative to Windows, you can use Linux Mint. This is a free operating system. It also provides protection against hacking and viruses.

.freeBSD: This can also be an excellent alternative to Windows operating system. You will be able to use it on servers, desktops, etc. The good thing is that you will also get good features related to networking, performance, and security here. It is easy to install on a PC etc. 

It can be installed via CD-ROM, DVD, NFS, etc. This may appeal to those who want a more secure operating system. You will be able to install it for free.
