Technique and advantages of specific compost manure from carrot grass Carrot grass (Parthenium hysterophorus) are considered bad for the environment, while animals do not like to eat this grass. The pollen of this grass can cause eczema, asthma and skin diseases.

One plant produces 25,000 seeds which affect the yield of agriculture. The right reason is that this grass grows on its own in the rainy season, but due to its not being used, farmers cut it and throw it outside the field or destroy it by chemical methods. But now, unique use of this carrot grass has been discovered by scientists so that now carrot grass will be used in the manufacture of special compost manure for agriculture. With this, carrot grass will be used on the one hand, and the other hand, natural and cheap fertilizers will be available to the farmers.

Recently, under the joint aegis of District Environment Committee, Udaipur and Foster Indian Environment Society Intali, specific compost manure manufacturing technology have been invented from carrot grass.

 Carrot Grass Solution

Under the National Innovation Discovery Program, Assistant Professor Dr Satish Kumar Ameta, resident of Kurabad village of Udaipur district, in his research paper, made special compost manure by solving carrot grass, which became the problem of world environment after two years of tireless efforts.

The amount of nitrogen, phosphorus, potassium in the manure made by this technique was assessed three times more than ordinary green manure, which will prove to be a boon for the farmers. Presently working as Assistant Professor in Mewar University Gangrar Chittorgarh, DrThis research of Ameta will benefit both in eradicating carrot grass and farmers’ organic manure. Let us tell you that this research of Dr Satish Ameta has been published in a prestigious research journal of Iran. With the information obtained from this, the cultivators can use carrot grass (Parthenium) as a fertilizer for the crop, which will protect the environment.

This is how manure is made from carrot grass.

In this technique, one part of waste organic matter like cow dung, dry leaves, crop residues, ash, wood sawdust etc. and four pieces of carrot grass are mixed in this ratio and filled in a wooden box. Holes are made around this box so that the airflow remains proper and the carrot grass can be decomposed into manure quickly. The number of nutrients in the compost can be increased by using rock phosphate and Trichoderma fungus. In this way, organic waste can be made from carrot grass in just two months by continuously sprinkling water and providing air by overturning this mixture at certain intervals.

According to research, the amount of main nutrients in compost made from carrot grass is twice as much as cow dung and earthworm manure. In such a situation, carrot grass fertilizer can become a better option. Nitrogen 1.05, Phosphorus 10.84, Potassium 1.11, Calcium 0.90 and Magnesium 0.55 per cent are found in Carrot grass while Nitrogen 1.61, Phosphorous 0.68, Potassium 1.31, Calcium 0.65 and Magnesium 0.43 per cent are located in Earthworm manure. On the other hand, nitrogen 0.45, phosphorus 0.30, potassium 0.54, calcium 0.59 and magnesium 0.28 per cent are found in cow dung. In this way, the amount of nutrients is more in carrot grass. Benefits of using Carrot Grass Compost / Benefits of Carrot Grass Compost is such an organic fertilizer, using which there is no effect on crops, humans and animals.

On making compost, the toxic chemical Parthenon found in the living state of carrot is completely decomposed. Therefore it is completely safe for the crops.

Carrot compost is a balanced compost in which the amount of nitrogen, phosphorus and potash elements is higher than that of cow dung. Apart from these main nutrients, Carrot compost also contains micronutrients which are helpful in better production of the crop.

Being organic manure, this manure is eco-friendly.

Carrot grass compost is prepared at a low cost.

Carrot grass increases the fertility of the land with compost.
