An Indian living in America set an example of honesty. Actually this Indian family returned a lottery ticket worth 1 million dollars, i.e, approx 7 crore 30 lakhs to their customer. The woman who had bought this lottery threw it away thinking its worthless and now this lottery ticket made her a millionaire in a night.
Let’s find out the whole story behind this ticket
A woman named Lea Rose Fiega in Massachusetts,USA had bought this lottery ticket back in March, 2021 from a shop named Lucky Stop. This shop belongs to an Indian based family living in Southwick area. Lea Rose Fiega usually bought lottery tickets from this shop. She bought this ticket and in a hurry didn’t scratch the numbers on it properly.
And so she thought she didn’t win the lottery and threw the ticket among other useless lottery tickets where it stayed for 10 days. But shop owner’s son, Abhi Shah, noticed it. He saw that this ticket has won 1 million dollars.
This 1 million dollar worth ticket was sold by Abhi Shah’s mother, Aruna Shah. They knew that Lea Rose Fiega had bought it, their regular customer. Abhi Shah told that one evening he was looking at the useless tickets when he noticed that the numbers on Fiega’s ticket weren’t properly scratched. Then he scratched those numbers and realized that it had won10 lakh dollars, i.e, 7.30 lakh crore rupees of prize money.
This is how it was decided to return the ticket
Abhi told that after that he realized that he had become a millionaire. But his family decided to return it to the person who had bought this. Shah family says that this decision wasn’t easy. Shop owner, Munish Shah said that they couldn’t sleep for two nights. But Abhi Shah called his grandmother in India and she asked him to return the ticket saying we don’t need that money. Fiega said that Abhi Shah asked her to come ovee and when she went there she came to know the whole matter. She couldn’t believe it. She cried and hugged them.
